Trading Fight – Gamified Crypto Battles Inspired by Hyperliquid and MortalKombat

1. Introduction: The Concept

MortalCoin's Trading Gameplay is a fast-paced, PvP and PvE skill game that transforms the core mechanics of crypto derivatives trading into an engaging and intuitive arcade fighting experience. Inspired by the high-octane environment of platforms like Hyperliquid, our gameplay loop gamifies the act of trading, allowing players to compete by predicting the price movements of one crypto asset against another.

Instead of complex charts and order books, players are presented with a visually rich battle screen where success depends on their ability to forecast short-term market trends. We believe this mechanic has the power to introduce a new generation of users to crypto markets — not through charts, but through gameplay, competition, and entertainment.

MortalCoin transforms trading into an arcade fighter, gamifying derivatives mechanics for a new generation of players, streamers and traders.

2. The Core Gameplay Loop

The gameplay is designed to be cyclical, intuitive, and highly engaging, translating complex trading actions into simple, satisfying game mechanics.

2.1. The Matchup & Pre-Battle

  • Initiating a Battle: A player chooses to enter a trading battle, pitting their chosen character and associated coin (e.g., BTC) against an opponent.
  • The "VS" Screen: A classic arcade-style pre-battle screen showcases the two competitors and their respective coins, building anticipation for the fight ahead.

2.2. The Arena: The Game Screen

The main game screen is where the action unfolds. It consists of several key elements:

  • The Price Chart: A real-time, simplified line chart showing price action of the chosen asset pair.
  • The Fighters: Characters representing each player react dynamically to price changes and player decisions.
  • The Timer: A countdown clock creates urgency and defines the round duration.
  • The Action Buttons: Two primary actions — Long (predicting price will rise) and Short (predicting it will fall).
  • The Score / P&L Bar: A dynamic bar displays each player's current Profit & Loss (P&L), effectively visualizing who’s winning the match.

2.3. Making a Move: Opening a Position

  • Attacking (Opening a Position): Pressing Long or Short triggers a visual attack (e.g., a punch) and opens a trading position in the background. While the move looks like an attack, its outcome depends on the price movement that follows.

  • Position & Price Tracking: The game locks in the asset price at the moment of entry. The player's score updates in real time based on market movement:

    • Going Long: If the price rises after entry, the score increases; if it falls, the score decreases.
    • Going Short: If the price falls after entry, the score increases; if it rises, the score decreases.
  • Closing the Position (Triggering Outcome): When a player closes a position, the outcome is immediately visualized as a hit animation, and the result sums up to their total realized P&L:

    • Profitable Close: The player’s fighter lands a punch on the opponent.
    • Losing Close: The opponent lands a punch on the player’s character.

This mechanic creates a constant flow of attacks driven by real-time trading outcomes, with every move carrying emotional and visual weight.

Importantly, players cannot see the open position (Long or Short) of their opponent — only their realized P&L is publicly visible. This adds a layer of hidden information, encouraging bluffing, feints, and mind games reminiscent of poker-style tactics.

2.4. Scoring and Winning the Match

  • Total P&L Score: The sum of all trades made during the match determines the final score.
  • Match Winner: At the end of the timer, the player with the higher P&L wins.
  • Super Punch Finish: The winner's character lands a dramatic “Super Punch” to finish the match with flair and finality.

3. The Hyperliquid Analogy: Trading, Simplified

Our gameplay abstracts the complexity of real-world trading platforms into a format anyone can understand and enjoy:

  • Implicit Leverage: While we don’t surface concepts like margin or liquidation, P&L is amplified to create the high-stakes feeling of leveraged trading.
  • Perpetual Logic: The Long and Short actions are simplified analogues of perpetual futures.
  • Live P&L Visualization: The score bar mimics a trader’s real-time unrealized P&L, providing feedback at a glance.
  • Zero-Sum Mechanics: PvP matches are zero-sum — one player’s win is the other’s loss, echoing real trading psychology.

4. Conclusion: From Game to Gateway — Crypto Markets for the Masses

MortalCoin’s Trading Gameplay is more than a game — it’s a new medium for experiencing the market, designed to make trading feel exciting, accessible, and social.

  • Accessibility: No real money, no trading accounts, no learning curve — just buttons, instincts, and real market action.
  • Engagement: Turns trading from a solitary, stressful task into a competitive sport — complete with combos, scores, and signature finishers.
  • Education Through Play: Players build a gut-level understanding of speculation, price action, and risk/reward dynamics — without risk.

🌍 A New Kind of Spectator Sport

We envision MortalCoin battles being streamed on platforms like Twitch, Kick, and YouTube, turning market moves into crowd-cheering moments. Just like esports turned MOBAs and FPS games into global spectacles, MortalCoin aims to make crypto watchable, dramatic, and mainstream.

Whether you're a trader, gamer, or curious spectator, MortalCoin creates a new arena — one where price movements become punches, predictions become power moves, and anyone can become a trading champion.

♠️ Hidden Information = Tactical Depth

An essential layer of strategy lies in the information asymmetry:

Players cannot see which position (Long or Short) their opponent currently holds. Only the realized P&L of closed positions is visible.

This mechanic introduces a poker-like layer of bluffing, prediction, and mind games. Do you press your advantage now, or bait the opponent into overextending? Timing, observation, and reading your rival become just as important as reading the market — giving MortalCoin battles surprising strategic depth beneath the arcade-style surface.
